Chefs for Chefs are currently working alongside our client in North Leeds, an independently owned, 100+ bedroom hotel, seeking to appoint a head banqueting chef.

Currently operating 35-40 weddings per year, as well as daily conference lunches, corporate events and private dinners, we are looking for somebody to coordinate a team of 4, ensuring the C & B side of this business runs smoothly.

There is flexibility over the rota, as business dictates, usual days off are Sunday and Monday and earlier finishes during the week when there are no events booked in. There is a bit of work/life balance to be gained here by the right chef, as long as the department is organised and ran properly.

The basic salary is up to £27k and the role is available for an immediate start. The management and senior team are pushing hard to improve the standards of all the food and drink offering at the property, so this is an exciting time to join the team.

Candidate Role

  • Oversee the day to day running of the banqueting side of the operation
  • Develop menus alongside senior management and guests
  • Train, develop and mentor the existing team
  • Ensure consistent quality in all food produced
  • Work alongside the GM to maintain guest satisfaction
  • Ensure the kitchen’s food safety and hygiene protocols are maintained

Candidate Specification

  • Must have a background in fresh food
  • Hotel background is ideal
  • Preferably worked in banqueting before at a senior level
  • A strong banqueting sous chef may be considered
  • Must be financially competent and be able to work to budget
  • Be flexible in your approach
