Chefs for chefs are currently working alongside our client in Ilkley, seeking to appoint a chef for their pub kitchen.

Working mainly on your own initiative, the kitchen is small but well equipped and the menus are fresh, seasonal and include pub classics as well as more modern specials. Herbs and vegetable are grown in their kitchen garden.

 

There is paid overtime available as well as tips and a salary of circa £22k, this would suit a sous chef looking to take on a bit more responsibility or someone who prefers to work off their own steam. An assistant is available to help with the prep and cleaning.

 

This is a great opportunity to work closely with the owners, developing your cooking style and kitchen management skills.

 

Candidate Role

  • Oversee the day to day running of the kitchen
  • Create and develop menus and specials
  • Work with the owners to drive the business forward
  • Ensure the kitchen’s food safety and hygiene protocols are maintained
  • Train and develop the kitchen assistant
  • Ensure consistent quality in all food produced

  • Fresh food background
  • Ideally at least at sous chef level
  • Ambitious and passionate
  • Have great time keeping and personal skills
  • Have a friendly and approachable character
  • Be confident in all areas of the kitchen
