Description

Chefs for chefs are currently working alongside our client in Petersfield, Hampshire. The venue is an all-day dining bistro and wine bar, serving breakfast dishes, light lunches and a bistro style evening menu.

They service approx. 60 covers, a mixture of indoor and al fresco dining from their small but new and well-equipped kitchen. Daily specials are also offered depending on the produce available. They also serve steaks cooked on hot stones at the table.

Working as part of a team of 5, you will be assisting the head chef with the day to day prep and service of the menus, helping to drive and develop this fairly new business. There is a salary of £25k per annum plus tips share on offer, as well as the chance to grow as part of the future business plans.

Candidate Role

  • Assist the chef/owner with the day to day running of the kitchen
  • Ensure consistent quality of all food produced
  • Work on any designated section
  • Provide support where needed
  • Develop menus and specials alongside the chef
  • Train the junior members of the team to expected standard
  • Uphold the kitchen’s food hygiene and safety protocols

 

Candidate Specification

  • A background in fresh food
  • A strong desire to succeed as a chef
  • A creative mind with an eye for detail
  • Excellent time keeping, personal and man management skills
  • Be up to date with current industry trends
  • Be aware of current food safety and allergen legislations
  • Be financially competent and able to work to budget
