Commis Chef


We are working with a fantastic upmarket dining venue in the heart of Leeds currently looking to recruit a Commis chef to join their team.

The restaurant is based bang in the centre of Leeds and has a relaxed atmosphere for its clients. The establishment has one rosette for food and service and is a busy dining venue with offerings spreading over Breakfast, Lunch, afternoon tea & dinner service.

The working week is 40-45 hours spread 5 days over 7 which most shifts are straight shifts hardly any splits. The Salary on offer is £17,000 plus tips and meals on duty. With a very generous overtime agreement! all overtime will be paid at your hourly rate.

If you would be needed to work any extra hours to cover sickness/ holidays etc. There is a very generous overtime agreement after 45 hours all overtime will be paid at your hourly rate.

Overall, we are looking for a candidate that is self-motivated, good timekeeper and can work individual as well as part of a team, must be able to fit into an existing team and serve breakfast solo and lunch alongside the head chef to a high standard.


Candidate Role


  • Work alongside the team to deliver consistent, great quality dishes
  • Liaise with the senior team to develop the food business as a whole
  • Uphold strict legislation relating to environmental health requirements
  • Participate in daily food preparation and service
  • Ensure kitchen fridges are hygienic and adopt stock rotation systems
  • This is a hands-on role, daily presence on the main line is essential


Candidate Specification

  • Candidates ideally have experience working to a 1 AA Rosette level consistently. However, this is not essential
  • Ideally have held commis chef level 
  • Be able to communicate fluently and precisely
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have a keen eye for fine detail
