Head Chef-Dining Inn with Rooms


Chefs for chefs are delighted to be working alongside our client in Dorchester, Dorset. We are seeking a head chef to help drive the business forward ad improve the quality of their already excellent food offering.


The current team is small but well established, the core team have all been there for 3 years plus, the owners are very hands on with the day to day running and ensure that staff are kept happy and well motivated.


The current food style is informal during the day, with a more restaurant feel in the evening. Small, focused menus allow the team to concentrate on quality rather than ‘bums on seats’


There is no accommodation with this role, however the business owners are happy to provide a room for up to one month to assist with relocation. Salary is £32k+ and there is a bonus structure to be discussed on interview.

Candidate Role

  • Assume the daily responsibilities of running a kitchen
  • Train and develop junior members of the team
  • Propose, develop and implement seasonal menus
  • Ensure the food safety and hygiene protocols are maintained
  • Ensure financial targets are met
  • Work alongside the directors to drive the business forward

Candidate Specification

  • A driven, focused desire to succeed
  • A stable career history
  • Head chef experience preferred, although a strong senior sous will be considered
  • A fresh food background
  • Flexibility in your approach to work
  • Strong man management and personal skills
  • Be up to date with current legislation and allergen awareness
