Head Chef-Pub Kitchen

Description

We are currently working alongside our client in Marsden, near Huddersfield, seeking to recruit a head chef for their small but popular pub kitchen.

The menu is all fresh and runs based on seasonality and local suppliers, as head chef you will have full control over the menus and specials.

The pub kitchen operates straight shifts and is closed on Monday and Tuesday, meaning days off together each week is on offer.

The basic salary is circa £28k, please note that due to the size of the kitchen, you will be required to work on your own initiative on quieter days. An assistant is available at the weekends/busy days etc.

Candidate Role

  • Assume the day to day running of the kitchen
  • Ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are upheld
  • Liaise with suppliers to create effective working relationships
  • Work with the senior team to improve the food and drink service
  • Develop menus and specials, in keeping with the pub’s character and customer base
  • Ensure consistently quality in all food produced

Candidate Specification

  • Head chef experience at a similar property
  • Good knowledge of traditional British cooking
  • Be able to work effectively by yourself
  • Be up to date with hygiene and allergen legislation
  • Have a friendly and approachable character
  • Be passionate about pubs and pub cooking
