Description

We are recruiting for an experienced Junior Sous Chef for our clients stunning 2 Rosette hotel and spa just 2 miles outside of York.

The site is a 17th century country house with surrounding gardens and is renowned for its individually styled boutique rooms, spa and fine dining restaurant. There are 29 rooms in total ranging from suites in the main house as well as the courtyard area. 

The 2 Rosette accredited restaurant has previously been awarded restaurant of the year on two occasions. The menu offers a diverse mix of traditional and modern British cookery utilising the best of local produce and always in keeping with seasonality. 

The position is for the hot kitchen and will be made up of both restaurant service and the C&B trade. There are currently 7 chefs in the brigade who work an average of 50 hours per week which spans 5 over 7 days. The position does have the availability of accommodation which is charged at £200PM.

Candidate Role

·Assist in the daily running of the kitchen

.Assume joint responsibility of the running of the kitchen in the head chefs absence

·Report directly to the head chef

·Organise and manage sections throughout the kitchen

·Participate in daily food prep and service 

·Upkeep the high cleanliness and hygiene standards

·Develop junior members of the team

 

Candidate Specification

·Preferred similar experience, however, a strong senior CDP may be considered

·Ideally have experience at a 2 rosette level

·Restaurant and C&B experience essential

·Be able to work independently and as part of a team

·Have a keen eye for detail

·Great communication skills essential
