Description

We are delighted to be working alongside our client in Warwickshire, near Lapworth, seeking to appoint a junior sous chef to join the team of 8 in their busy food led pub.

 

Part of a small, independent group of similar properties that offers a great mix of traditional and modern dishes using fresh, seasonal produce. The kitchen works a mix of splits and straight shifts, based on a 45 hour week over 4 and ½ days. There is paid overtime over 45 hours and the tips are in the region of £5k per year.

 

We are looking for a strong cook who can handle some volume while retaining quality at all times as all the food is made fresh from scratch, this role may suit a very good cdp who is looking for their first step in to kitchen management. The salary is circa £24k. Due to the rural location, this role would suit someone who has access to their own transport.

 

 

Candidate Role

  • Work across all sections of the kitchen
  • Provide support where needed to the junior staff members
  • Assist the senior team with the day to day running of the kitchen
  • Uphold the kitchen’s food safety and hygiene protocols
  • Assist with menu development and new dish ideas
  • Ensure consistent quality of all food produced

Candidate Specification

  • All fresh food background is a must
  • Ideally working in a similar property
  • A very strong cdp may be considered
  • Be confident in a high volume environment
  • Have a cool, calm, approachable manner
  • Be up to date with industry practises and allergen legislation
