Chefs for Chefs are delighted to be working alongside our client on the North West coast of Wales, on Anglesey, seeking to appoint an ambitious, forward thinking and experienced chef to lead the team in their newly refurbished Bar and Bistro.

There is a great team already in place, enthusiastic and passionate. What we are looking for is someone to oversee the day to day running of the kitchen in a hands on capacity.

 

Working alongside the management driving the business forward, you will be excited to develop working relationships with local suppliers, ensuring consistent quality and that financial targets are maintained.

 

The business has 40 covers and is very busy with locals and tourists alike, this is a wonderful opportunity to make a name for your self locally. You will be given full autonomy over meus, as long as they are in keeping with the business and popular. Local, seasonal products treat with care and precision are what we are looking for here.

 

The starting salary for this role is £22.5k, with a review after 6 months. The business owners are also very keen to help the staff create a work/life balance and intend to give the chef one weekend out of 4 off. This is a great time to join this growing company.

Candidate Role

  • Assume full control of the day to day running of the kitchen
  • Train and develop junior members of the team
  • Create and maintain strong supplier relationships
  • Work with the front of house and senior team to create a positive working environment
  • Ensure menus are costed effectively
  • Ensure the high standards of food safety and hygiene are adhered to
  • Work to develop future business, bringing fresh, positive ideas to the table

 

Candidate Specification

  • A strong background in fresh food, seasonal cooking
  • A stable career history
  • Have excellent time keeping, personal and man management skills
  • Be financially aware and able to work to budget
  • Be up to date with all current food hygiene and allergen regulations
  • Be confident in all areas of the kitchen
  • Have a friendly, hard working personality
  • Enjoy cooking great food and passing your knowledge down
