Description

We are recruiting for a passionate and highly experienced kitchen manager for our client’s contract catering company based in Ashford, Kent.

The family business has been operating since 2010 and produces + delivers nutritious meals to schools but is also looking to branch out into the corporate sector.

The company is passionate about ensuring that their meals are balanced, freshly produced and focus on great quality ingredients with emphasis on ethically produced ingredients that minimise the impact on the planet. Great pride is taken in high levels of customer service which is reliant on clear and proper communication with clients they supply to. 

The role is a very important position which should attract those with a similar experience in production and quality food sites. The individual must have great organisational skills as all of the meals are weighed and itemised to ensure consistency is met and quality maintained. This is a high-volume role typically catering for up to 1200 pupils daily.

The salary for the role is up to £32k per annum with the average working week being Monday to Friday – 5.30am-finish which is usually around 3.30pm dependent on requirements.

Candidate Role

·Assume overall charge of the entire kitchen operation

·Liaise with the senior team to plan the weeks requirements

·Maximise productivity amongst the kitchen team

·Ensure all elements of the operation are compliant with health and hygiene protocols

·Minimise food wastage

·Plan and create seasonally inspired menus

·Be responsible for all food orders and par levels

 

Candidate Specification

·Senior management experience is essential in the kitchen environment

·Full fresh food background is preferred

·Must have level 3 food and hygiene certification

·Clean driving license is essential

·Excellent management and communication skills

·Be able to manage time efficiently to maximise results

·Work independently and as part of a team

·Good computer skills preferred 

·Have experience working in food production
