We are currently working alongside our client on the south coast of Devon, a stunning and unique 25 bedroom hotel. We are seeking to recruit a pastry chef to assist the executive chef with the day to day running of the pastry section in their fine dining kitchen.

The menu is based on classical French dishes, served with a modern approach to presentation. Seasonality and local ingredients dictate the dishes available, as well as working with the nest suppliers in the area.

There is a basic salary of around £26k and accommodation can be provided if needed, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that is steeped in history and tradition. Overall, we are seeking some with drive and ambition to work alongside the senior team, driving standards forward.


Candidate Role

  • Assume responsibility for the day to day running of the pastry section in the fine dining and seafood restaurants
  • Develop menus alongside the executive chef
  • Train and develop junior members of the team
  • Create a positive working environment that encourages high standards
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships, ensuring the best ingredients possible
  • Maintain the kitchen’s excellent food safety and hygiene records
  • Ensure consistent quality in all food produced; this is a hands on role


Candidate Specification

  • Chef de partie in pastry experience
  • Fresh food background essential
  • Hotel background preferred
  • Be up to date with the latest industry trends and technique
  • Have excellent time keeping, man management and personal skills
  • Be flexible in your approach to work
  • Have an eye for detail and drive high standards
