Description

We are recruiting for a senior chef de partie for our clients 17th century inn based in Reading, Berkshire. The site is part of a small, privately owned group and operates independently.

The main focus of the site is is high quality, locally sourced beef and has a strong emphasis as an upmarket steak house. However, they do offer a full range of dishes from quality fish and shellfish, vegetarian options and bar snacks.
The business has developed a well deserved good reputation in the surrounding area for delivering consistency and great service standards. There are currently 5 chefs in the kitchen brigade with the idea to recruit the above named position in order to keep up with increasing demand.
The role is an hourly rate of pay between £8.50/9ph with an average working week around 48 hours which spans 5 over 7 days. There is also a tips package available on the basic salary and the possibility of live in accommodation which is charged at a reasonable rate.

Candidate Role

·Assume control of your designated section

·Assist with the kitchen’s food hygiene protocols

·Work on all sections, providing support where needed

·Train and mentor the junior staff members

·Develop new dishes and menu ideas alongside the senior team

·Ensure consistent quality at all times

·Fresh food background is a must

·Must be confident with busy services

·A very strong demi chef de partie may be considered

·Must be driven to succeed as a chef

·Ideally from a similar restaurant background

·Must have excellent personal, time and man management skills

·Be professional and approachable at all times
