Senior Sous Chef

Description

We are working alongside a fantastic 2 rosette property searching for a talented Senior Sous Chef to join this brigade. This restaurant with rooms boasts 16 bedrooms making it a fantastic destination restaurant in the surrounding area.

The restaurant caters for up to 60 covers on an evening and approximately 30 covers on a lunch service. The property has held 2 AA rosettes for a number of years and has the intent to push further forward for accolades.

This is a great opportunity for a chef to develop their skills and work as part of a passionate team to further develop the business.

The average working week will be around 45-48 hours which spans 5 days over 7, the owner can also assist with relocation for the right candidate offering them temporary accommodation which is a shared house close to the property.

The salary on offer is around £28-30,000 per annum, with a good tips package on top.

Candidate Role

  • Assume overall charge of the busy food operation within the establishment in the absence of the head chef
  • Liaise with senior management on all matters regarding food service and maintaining standards
  • Develop junior members of the team
  • Report directly to the head chef
  • Uphold all health and safety legislation in accordance with EHO
  • Create seasonally inspired menus alongside the senior team
  • Ensure that equipment, fridges and freezers are working in accordance with laws
  • Have a keen eye for details and maintaining food standards

Candidate Specification

  • Senior experience within fine dining restaurants and hotels is essential
  • A strong, proven junior sous chef would be considered
  • Must have worked to a 2 Rosette minimum level
  • Have strong experience working on conference and banqueting to a good level
  • Have excellent management skills
  • Have great communication skills in all levels 
  • Be able to lead and manage a busy kitchen
