We are currently working alongside our client on the south coast of Devon, a stunning and unique 25 bedroom hotel. We are seeking to recruit a senior sous chef to assist the executive chef with the day to day running of their fine dining kitchen.

The menu is based on classical French dishes, served with a modern approach to presentation. Seasonality and local ingredients dictate the dishes available, as well as working with the nest suppliers in the area.

There is a basic salary of around £30k and accommodation can be provided if needed, this is an excellent opportunity to join a business that is steeped in history and tradition. Overall, we are seeking some with drive and ambition to work alongside the senior team, driving standards forward.

Candidate Role

  • Assume responsibility for the day to day running of the fine dining and seafood restaurants
  • Develop menus alongside the executive chef
  • Train and develop junior members of the team
  • Create a positive working environment that encourages high standards
  • Maintain and develop supplier relationships, ensuring the best ingredients possible
  • Maintain the kitchen’s excellent food safety and hygiene records
  • Ensure consistent quality in all food produced; this is an hands on role



Candidate Specification

  • Senior sous or sous chef experience
  • Fresh food background essential
  • Hotel background preferred
  • Be confident across all sections of the kitchen
  • Have excellent time keeping, man management and personal skills
  • Be flexible in your approach to work
  • Have an eye for detail and drive high standards
