Senior Sous Chef-Stunning Village Gastro Pub


We are recruiting for a highly experienced and talented senior sous chef for our clients stunning country gastro pub in Henley on Thames.

The site is a fantastically restored country inn located in a beautiful rural location. The main objective of the business is to produce the very best of modern British cuisine and using excellent ingredients and always focusing on seasonality. 

The company offers dining guests an exceptional variety including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is very diverse and offers the very best of British pub cuisine which uses modern cooking techniques and presentation for the dishes.

The senior team are highly experienced having worked up to a 2 Michelin star level previously. Having received accreditation from the Michelin guide, the chef has no immediate plans to push for rosettes etc but this would not be ruled out for the future.

This is a fantastic opportunity for any hungry and determined chef to join the the brigade. At full strength, there will be 6 full time members of the kitchen team. Currently, all chefs have two and a half days off per week including Sunday evening. 

Candidate Role

·Assume overall charge of the kitchen in the head chefs absence

·Report directly to the head chef

·Participate in daily food prep and service

·Organise and assist in running the kitchen for daily operations

·Develop junior members of the team

·Assist in the development of seasonally inspired menus

Candidate Specification

·Experience in high end properties is essential 

·Ideally have held similar position previously

·Great time keeping and management skills

·Be able to work independently and as part of a team

·Clean and tidy worker

.Have in depth knowledge of seasonality on produce

.Minimise food wastage
