We are delighted to be working alongside a 2AA rosette stunning 4* Luxury hotel in Windermere seeking a strong Sous Chef to join this upcoming passionate brigade.

The property has 30 bedrooms on average caters for 20 exclusive weddings a year and is only open through afternoon tea and dinner service, the kitchen is well equipped and recently under the direction of a new head chef actively seeking further accolades.

The team is composed of 8 chefs and kitchen porters, working a 45-hour week based on variety of shifts.

The restaurant does 40-50 covers on an average evening, to a high 2 rosette standard with this newly appointed head chef from a 3AA Rosette background he is really aiming to push the property to further success.

There is the potential of accommodation for the right candidate simple down to the location of this property, the salary on offer is £28,000-30,000 per annum depending on experience with paid overtime after the set contract hours. 

 

Candidate Role

  • Deputise for the head chef in his absence
  • Lead the team to a 2 Rosette standard, ensuring consistent quality through a hands on approach
  • Train and develop the junior members of staff
  • Work with the head chef and management team to drive the food and beverage offering forward
  • Contribute to new menu ideas and dish development
  • Assist with rotas, stocktakes, financial targets and day to day management issues
  • Work across all sections of the kitchen, providing support where needed
  • Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and due diligence are kept

 

Candidate Specification

  • 2/3 Rosette experience is essential
  • Ideally from a hotel background
  • Experience in conference and banqueting an advantage
  • A calm, cool head under pressure
  • Attention to detail and a meticulous approach
  • Excellent time keeping, man management and personal skills
  • Be friendly and approachable
  • Be focused and driven to produce standards of excellence
