We are delighted to be recruiting for a Sous Chef for our clients thriving, quality food led pub located near Tadcaster. The establishment has acquired a strong reputation for delivering fantastic, consistent food which has a strong influence on traditional English with a flair of European cuisine serving 150-200 covers a week.

Unfortunately, no Live-in is available, so local applicants who drive would be preferred. Tips are included to complement an attractive package for the right candidate, this is a great opportunity for an experienced Chef de partie to take the next step in their career in a stunning location working with a great new Head Chef.

 The Sous Chef will be working 5 days over 7 and around 45 hours a week working a mixture of splits and straight shifts with one weekend off a month and closed on a Monday.

Candidate Role

 

  • Work alongside the Head chef to further develop the food offering and reputation.
  • Manage the kitchen team, monitoring all kitchen operations.
  • Motivate, train and develop the junior members of the brigade
  • Deputise for the head chef in their absence, ensuring that the kitchens output in consistent regardless of which team members are in
  • Co-manage, ordering, stock control and wastage
  • Help with Rota management and recruitment
  • Develop new menu items, using the best seasonal ingredients available
  • Take responsibility of health and hygiene of the kitchen
  • Ensure guest satisfaction at all times

 

Candidate Specification

 

  • Must have experience in similar establishments
  • Must be passionate and creative
  • Experience working in a commercial kitchen
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Passion and a love for what you do to deliver great produce and dishes to our much loved guests.
  • Have determination to develop your own skills
  • Own transport would be necessary due to the location.
  • Excellent time management is required
  • You must have great knowledge of food safety legislation and work in line with this at all times.
  • Be able to handle themselves in a busy kitchen environment
