Sous Chef - Gastro Pub with Rooms

Description

We are currently working with our client who is seeking to recruit an ambitious and driven sous chef to join the busy kitchen brigade in their busy, food led pub. The focus on the food here is based on seasonal cooking using the best of the Yorkshire region has to offer, with an emphasis on strong flavor and textures. The kitchen is well equipped and has an established team in place.

The average working week 45-50 hours working straight shifts 5 days a week closed on a Monday Night. The hourly pay rate is £11-12ph.

Candidate Role

·Work alongside the Head chef to further develop the food offering and reputation.

·Assume overall responsibility of the kitchen in the head chefs absence

·Motivate, train and develop the junior members of the brigade

·Ensure the consistency of all produce is in line with the chef’s specification and standards

·Manage, ordering, stock control and wastage of your section

·Develop new menu items, using the best seasonal ingredients available

·Take responsibility of health and hygiene of your section and the kitchen

·Ensure guest satisfaction at all times

 

Candidate Specification

·Proven sous chef experience, a junior sous may be considered

·Be comfortable & Calm running a section during service

·Be able to work as part of a close-knit team

·Thrive in a busy environment

·Be self-motivated

·Fantastic time management

·Hold yourself to a high professional level

·Must be local or be able to drive
