Chefs for Chefs are delighted to be working alongside our clients in Cromford, Derbyshire, seeking to recruit a passionate and hardworking sous chef to help run the kitchen for this ambitious, embryonic young company.

With responsibility over the kitchen in the head chefs’ absence in this stunning grade 1 listed building, you will assist to develop the food style, offering first class dining to residents and guests alike. The directors of the business are passionate about food and wine and are seeking a like-minded, forward thinking chef to work alongside them in building a long lasting reputation for cooking real food.

The hours are circa 45 per week, based on a variety of shifts. The salary is to be discussed at interview, but is circa £26k, with tips package on top of the basic package. There is no accommodation available, this is a live out role, however it is easily commutable to. They are pushing for their first AA rosette and are due inspection soon.

Candidate Role

·Ensure the consistent smooth running of the food production areas

·Effectively control stock, purchasing, receipt, storage and preparation of quality produce

·Maintain a high level of food preparation and service, with the aim of exceeding customer expectations

·Train and develop the junior members of the team

·Ensure the cleanliness, hygiene and due diligence are at the highest level possible

·Plan, develop and execute seasonal menus

·Work closely with the senior team to drive the business forward


Candidate Specification

·Must have own transport

·Be a good team player, hardworking and enthusiastic

·Passionate about good food and wine

·Rosette background would be ideal

·Have excellent time keeping, personal and man management skills

·Be friendly and approachable at all times

·Have an eye for detail and presentation
