Chefs for chefs are working alongside our client in Perthshire, looking to recruit a strong sous chef to join their small team at this award winning country house hotel.

Set in stunning countryside, the hotel is privately owned, has 9 bedrooms and the kitchen team is serving a mixture of traditional and contemporary Scottish dishes, with the emphasis on bold flavours and clean, modern presentation.

The hotel can provide staff accommodation on top of the salary of £28k plus tips and bonus package. They currently only serve lunch on a Sunday and the usual working hours are around 45-48 per week.

Candidate Role

  • Support the head chef in the day to day running of the kitchen
  • Deputise for the head chef in his absence
  • Train, develop and mentor the junior members of the team
  • Ensure consistent quality in all food produced
  • Work with the senior team to drive the business forward
  • Ensure the kitchen’s food safety and hygiene protocols are maintained
  • Assist to ensure financial targets are met


Candidate Specification

  • A fresh food background is a must
  • Ideally from a hotel background
  • Be confident on all sections of the kitchen
  • Have a cool, calm and approachable character
  • Be flexible
  • Have excellent time keeping, man management and personal skills
  • A keen eye for detail
