Chefs for Chefs are delighted to be working alongside our client, an upmarket, all day dining bistro serving small plates, on trend brunch dishes and grills.

They are currently seeking a sous chef that can work in a high-pressure environment, keeping up with bust pace whilst still retaining quality in the food produced.

The hours are based on straight shifts, 45-48 per week, 5 days over 7. There is no live-in accommodation, so we are looking for chefs in a commutable distance of the outskirts of Oldham who has access to their own transport. Basic salary is circa £25k, with a tips package on top.

Candidate Role

  • Assist the head chef with the day to day management of the kitchen
  • Train and develop junior members of staff
  • Work on all sections, providing support where needed
  • Contribute to new menus ideas and dish development
  • Ensure consistent quality of all food produced
  • Oversee the kitchen in the absence of the head chef

Candidate Specification

  • A background in high volume fresh cooking
  • Sous chef experience would be preferred
  • Be up to date with current food hygiene and allergens protocols
  • Have a friendly and approachable character
  • Have excellent time keeping, man management and personal skills
  • Must be passionate and willing to drive your career forward
